When Andrew was in the hospital there were not a
whole lot of things that we could do for him, so dressing was one of
the things that we found most comforting. Finding affordable
clothes that fit proved to be a challenge. Usually the ones that
we could find were outrageously priced. There was only about a
month and three quarter span where he could wear his preemie clothes.
For about the first month the only thing that he could wear was his
diaper. Then when he was in the "Isolette" it was heated and
they kept him in Onesie's. It was not until he was in the "Open
Bassinet" that he could wear more.
The store that we found the most luck in was "Meijer's"
this is an "all in one stop, groceries and more" kind of store with
locations in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.
They carry their own line called "Baby Beginnings" that has preemie
sizes. Their outfits only cost from around $5.99 to $14.99 many
times including matching caps.
We were also told that Burlington Coat Factory carries preemie sizes.
We saw that Sears carried some in their store, however they were
mostly "Onesie's" and lacked a selection.
